๐ HALLOWEEN SAFETY REMINDER ๐ป |
||
|
With Halloween tonight, South Wales Police is reminding residents, particularly young people and parents, to enjoy the celebrations safely and considerately.
Halloween should be a fun time for everyone, but we want to prevent anti-social behaviour and ensure that all members of our community feel safe.
A few important reminders:
๐ Trick or treating: Children should ideally be accompanied by a responsible adult. Stick to familiar, well-lit routes and only visit homes displaying Halloween decorations if you are unsure whether residents are participating.
๐ช Respect peopleโs wishes: Not everyone celebrates Halloween. Please respect homes displaying โNo Trick or Treatโ signs and do not repeatedly knock on doors.
๐ฅ No egging or throwing items: Throwing eggs, flour or other objects at houses, cars or people can cause damage, distress and unnecessary upset.
๐ Bobby knocking: Repeatedly knocking on doors and running away may seem harmless, but it can cause distress, particularly to elderly or vulnerable residents.
๐ป Be considerate: Avoid wearing masks or costumes that could cause unnecessary alarm in public places, and be mindful of other road users and pedestrians.
๐ Stay visible: Wear something reflective where possible and take extra care when crossing roads, especially during darker evenings.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with young people about appropriate behaviour, respecting others and the consequences of anti-social behaviour.
๐ฎ South Wales Police will be supporting communities throughout the Halloween and Bonfire Night Season.
If you witness anti-social behaviour or have concerns, please report them to South Wales Police. In an emergency, always call 999.
Letโs make Halloween enjoyable for everyone and keep our communities safe! ๐
